A Biblical Worldview in a Post-Christian Age

A Biblical Worldview in a Post-Christian Age

Much of the West—America included—has drifted from its Judeo-Christian foundations. Believers need a solid biblical worldview, courage to speak truth in love, and readiness to give a reason for our hope (1 Pet. 3:15). Return to Scripture, use your words as spiritual weapons (2 Cor. 10:3-5), and take the gospel beyond church walls into everyday life.

1) From Foundations to Drift

The United States was deeply shaped by a Judeo-Christian moral framework—reflected historically in ideas like two witnesses and mercy toward debtors.

Deuteronomy 19:15 (KJV)
“One witness shall not rise up against a man for any iniquity, or for any sin… at the mouth of two witnesses, or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established.”

Leviticus 25:10 (KJV)
“And ye shall hallow the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout all the land unto all the inhabitants thereof: it shall be a jubile unto you…”

Psalm 11:3 (KJV)
“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?”

Matthew 5:13–16 (KJV)
“Ye are the salt of the earth… Ye are the light of the world… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

2) Why a Biblical Worldview Matters

A worldview is the lens through which you interpret reality. For believers, the Bible must be final authority.

2 Timothy 3:16–17 (KJV)
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: that the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

Romans 12:2 (KJV)
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind…”

Colossians 2:8 (KJV)
“Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit… and not after Christ.”

3) Be Ready to Give a Defense

God calls us to know what we believe and why—clear and loving, not combative.

1 Peter 3:15 (KJV)
“But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”

2 Timothy 2:15 (KJV)
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

2 Corinthians 10:3–5 (KJV)
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh… casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God…”

Pull-Quote: “Words are powerful. Use God’s Word to pull down arguments, not people.”

4) Truth in Love—Not Silence in Fear

Jesus loved people and confronted sin.

John 8:11 (KJV)
“…And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.”

Matthew 21:12–13 (KJV)
“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple… It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer…”

Ephesians 4:15 (KJV)
“But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.”

Jude 3 (KJV)
“…ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.”

Hebrews 4:12 (KJV)
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword…”

5) No Other Name

Christianity is not one path among many—salvation is through Christ alone.

John 14:6 (KJV)
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

Acts 4:12 (KJV)
“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

Ephesians 2:8–9 (KJV)
“For by grace are ye saved through faith… not of works, lest any man should boast.”

6) Calling Sin What God Calls It

Love doesn’t redefine sin; love rescues from sin.

Romans 10:3 (KJV)
“For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.”

Galatians 1:8–9 (KJV)
“But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you… let him be accursed… as we said before, so say I now again…”

1 Corinthians 6:9–11 (KJV)
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived… And such were some of you: but ye are washed…”

7) Take the Gospel to the Marketplace

The church equips us; the world is our mission field.

Matthew 28:18–20 (KJV)
“All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations… teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you…”

Matthew 5:13–16 (KJV) (see above)

8) Build on the Rock

Do the work: study, pray, and let the Spirit teach you. Houses on the Rock stand.

Matthew 7:24–27 (KJV)
“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man… And the rain descended… and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

John 16:13 (KJV)
“Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth…”

2 Timothy 3:16–17 (KJV) (see above)

A Practical Next Step

  1. Daily Word: Read one Gospel chapter a day this week.

  2. Defend Gently: Write a 3-sentence answer for why you trust Jesus.

  3. Share: Pray for one person and share your testimony briefly.
