Bible Reading: Romans 12:1-2
Memory verse: Romans 12:1, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.”
God admonishes us to present our bodies as living sacrifices to Him. Notice that it is your responsibility to offer it to God. It takes will power and making a choice. God does not force us to do it. Your body represents the physical touchable part of you that makes you human. We are encouraged to surrender our parts, mouth, eyes, ears, hands, and all as holy to God. As children of God, this is our service. We have to choose who we want to conform to - the world system or the Word system? What we expose our minds to determines whether we conform or transform. The Word of God transforms us as we spend quality time with it. We naturally start to know and understand the perfect and acceptable will of God.
Our spiritual transformation is a gradual process. We start by running the white flag in total surrender of our life to God. Without the initial surrender, we can’t work or know God’s will for our lives.
By becoming a living sacrifice —dying to self (planting the Word in us), the Word planted in our hearts will change us effortlessly.
