Challenges are Necessary for Growth in Life

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

Memory verse: Judges 3:1, “Now these are the nations which the LORD left, that He might test Israel by them, that is, all who had not known any of the wars in Canaan”

This scripture clearly shows us that God’s desire is that we know how to fight not run from war or avoid it. Unfortunately, many have bought the lie from the devil that once you become a Christian, your troubles end. No, the opposite is the case. You actually sign up for battle with your confession of faith. That is why you are told to put on the whole amour of God, so you can withstand the fiery darts of the evil one. The beauty of this battle; however, is that you are declared a conqueror even before it is over. This is so because it is God who is actually fighting through you.

Joshua 23:3 says, “You have seen all that the Lord your God has done to all these nations because of you, for the Lord your God is He who has fought for you.” Recognize that it is no longer you that lives but Christ living in you because the life you live is by the faith in the Son of God who died and gave His life for you Galatians 2:20. I want to encourage you to stop being self-conscious and self-centered; rather, be Christ-conscious and Christ-centered. Know that what is happening to you is not all about you but targeted at the Christ in you. Know who you are in Christ. It is by faith in the Son of God that you stand, not faith in yourself. The faith you have is by the Holy Spirit, and all you need to do is to use and exercise it. When you speak the Word, you are actually releasing God to do the battle, and His word never fails. Keep speaking it, and victory is sure even though it tarries.
