Bible Reading: John 14:1-3
Memory verse: John 16:33, “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Anyone who has been around for any length of time knows that this world is filled with troubles. However, as children of God, we tend to think that trouble should not come to us. We may feel that we must be doing something wrong for trouble to come knocking at our door. Jesus was always faced with different types of trouble — haters, stormy seas, betrayals by close friends, and lack. This tells us that we can never be trouble proof on this side of eternity. Let us settle in our hearts that life is a cycle of troubles and victories. You are either in a trouble/battle, just coming out of one, or on your way into a new one.
Jesus encourages us to remember that in Him we have peace. You can have something and not use or be aware of it. So remember today that trouble isn’t an excuse not to be cheerful or happy. One of your greatest strengths in the midst of your battle is a cheerful heart. In a cheerful state of mind, you are able to hear God speak and direct you. So be happy, this too shall come to pass.
