Bible Reading: Romans 8:1-12
Special Verse: Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Romans 8:10-11 throws more light on what our state is after we receive Christ and are born again. It points out that our body is dead because of sin. This shows that our body didn't get born again when we got saved. However, our Spirit (which got regenerated and is indwelled by God) is alive because of righteousness which is a free gift. This shows that sin can not dwell in our born again spirit because it has no access to it.
The Spirit of God can give life to our mortal bodies when they come under attack by the enemy due to the activity of sin. God desires that we let our born again spirit rule over what happens in our mortal bodies, through believing right and speaking God's word over it. We should not allow our bodies to be instruments of unrighteousness but rather bring it under subjection to the authority of the word. In so doing life becomes peaceful because we allow the life of God in our spirit man to overflow into our whole being.
