BIBLE READING : MATTHEW 1:19-25
I have listened to a lot of motivational speeches online. They sure do inspire people to be the best they can be. However, when done by unbelievers, you are challenged to let "I" rule and take control. Yes, man can achieve anything he sets his heart to because God put in him his very abilities. You are told to pursue you passion and dream. Ironically, the passion and dream of the unregenerated Man is a polar opposite of God's for him.
A good example is the story of Joseph and Mary. The couple never planned to parent the Son of God in the wildest of dreams, but when God revealed his purpose to them, they ran with it. In life we can either be pursuing our own dreams or God's vision for our lives. However, when we choose to surrender our dream and go for God's own, we won't regret it. At the end of your life, you won't say like King Solomon, "Vanity upon vanity, all is vanity".
In conclusion, make God the center of your motivation not your own passion.
