Every Promise Must Be Possessed

Every Promise Must Be Possessed

Bible Reading: 1 Timothy 1:17-19

Memory verse: 1 Timothy 6:12, “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

One of the most difficult things I have come to terms with is that God will never do for me what he has empowered me to do, neither will he do what he has already done through the death of Jesus on the cross. It is my responsibility to get up and take hold of every promise. In this scripture, it is up to me not to allow myself to sin as a result of anger. I am also responsible for the place I give to the devil. I can’t ask God to take care of the devil for me by praying and fasting.

It is futile to use prayer as a cop out and not take action or exercise authority over the enemy. We have been instructed to take a stand and exercise self-control and self-discipline. Say no to the flesh and the devil. This may hurt but you will reap a harvest of righteousness and peace in future.
