Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 10: 2-6
Memory verse: Romans 10:17, “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.”
I t is one thing to go to church, be refreshed and encouraged but another to stay that way during the week. We have to realize that we need a continuous dose of faith filled words to stay positive in a negative world. The best way to maintain your faith is to speak those words in your own hearing to yourself. To achieve this, you need to continually stay connected to the word.
I remember once I was facing an impossible situation. Each morning I ensured I spent time in the word of God but noticed by mid-day I usually felt discouraged and ran low on faith. It was during that period I came to understand that just studying the word in the morning wasn’t enough but I needed to refill during the day. I started connecting to teachings and meditating the word throughout the day. I also decided that when those negative thoughts surface within, I open my mouth and speak God’s word back to me. That way I was able to stay strong in faith. So, stay connected with the word and don’t stop speaking until your mental atmosphere is what you want. That is the good fight of faith.
