Bible Reading: Matthew 6:5-8
Memory verse: Matthew 7: 8, “For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
“But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” Religion has made us believe that it is the length and number of times we pray that brings the answers. Nothing is further from the truth than this. God is not deaf neither does He have memory problems. The first time we ask, He hears. Even before we ask, He knows our needs as this scripture says. When we focus our energy on trusting and praising Him, we receive more answers.
Do you realize that God may answer your prayer, but you never see the manifestation because it never translated to a physical reality through your faith? Liken this to someone issuing you a check and you never cash it. Just like 1 John 5:14-15 clearly shows us, if it is in the Word, then you have it. You have it in the spirit, but faith is what makes it evident (Hebrews 11:1). It is our faith that brings to manifestation God’s promises to us, not the length of our prayer or how Many times you pray.
