Bible Reading: Hebrews 11:1-15
Special Verse: Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
For many it is difficult to wrap the mind around what faith really means. Simply put -1. faith is your positive response to receive what God has provided for you through grace. 2. Another way to put it is ‘stepping out in faith on the word of God to receive what Jesus obtained for you’.
The first definition, of faith hit me in a new way recently. I always wondered about some people mentioned in Hebrews 11, on why they qualified to be included there. Although they were mostly under the law, they refused to relate and receive from him based on their works. They reached out for the grace of God and over rode works. They all put their faith in Jesus even before he was born, remember Jesus was the promised seed Verse 13 "These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth."
We are admonished to approach God by faith through grace (Jesus) who fully qualifies us. Never look at yourself as unworthy. He paid it all for you.
