Fear Is a Choice and the Word Is Your Weapon

Fear Is a Choice and the Word Is Your Weapon

Scripture Focus: Psalm 91:5–7, 11; Luke 12:32

Psalm 91 makes a bold statement: “You will not fear…” That means fear is not something we must accept—it is something we resist. Fear comes to everyone. Thoughts of fear knock at every door. The difference is what you do with those thoughts.

I’ve experienced it myself—waking up and suddenly feeling fear. But instead of meditating on it, I resisted it. I turned my attention back to Psalm 91. I began to speak what God said: no evil shall come near my dwelling. Fear left because faith rose.

You can’t stop the enemy from bringing thoughts—but you can stop them from settling in your mind. Satan’s strategy is to get you to meditate on fear until it consumes you. But Psalm 91 gives you your response: speak the Word.

Some believers hesitate to speak boldly. They feel superstitious—like if they declare God’s promises, something bad will happen. But whether you speak or not, life brings attacks. The difference is that when you speak God’s Word, you overcome.

Psalm 91 says a thousand may fall at your side and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. Make that your confession. Meditate on it. Speak it when you hear fear-filled news. The Word of God is medicine, spirit, and life.

And Psalm 91 also reveals something powerful: “He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways.” As you speak God’s Word, you give heaven permission—your confession aligns you with divine help.

Jesus said, “Fear not, little flock; it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” In the kingdom there is no sickness, no defeat, no fear. So we do not have to live like the world.

Finally, this message is not only for protection—it is also a call to prepare for eternity. Something will take everyone out of this world someday—whether by sickness or by age. The question is: are you ready to meet your Maker? Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. God is inviting people into relationship, not religion.

Prayer:
Lord, I refuse fear. I choose faith. Teach me to use Your Word as my weapon and to stand strong in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Declaration:
I will not fear. I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. God commands His angels concerning me. No evil shall befall me.
