It Is Already Finished: Living in the Finished Work of Christ

It Is Already Finished: Living in the Finished Work of Christ

Bible Reading: 2 Corinthians 1:17-21

Key Verse: Isaiah 53:5

"By His stripes you were healed."

Devotional Reflection

One of the most powerful statements Jesus ever made was spoken from the cross:

"It is finished."

He did not say, "It will be finished." He did not say, "I'm almost done." He declared that the work was complete.

Those three words changed everything.

Through His death and resurrection, Jesus secured salvation, reconciliation with God, healing, peace, righteousness, and every spiritual blessing available to believers. The victory was won. The price was paid. The debt was cancelled.

Yet many Christians spend years asking God to do what He has already accomplished through Christ.

When answers seem delayed or circumstances remain unchanged, it is easy to assume that God is withholding His promises. But Scripture consistently points us back to a different reality: God's provision flows from a completed work, not an unfinished one.

The Bible tells us that we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. God's promises are not uncertain. In Christ, every promise carries God's "Yes" and "Amen."

This does not mean challenges disappear overnight. It means that believers can approach every situation from a position of victory rather than defeat.

Instead of praying from desperation, we learn to pray from confidence.

Instead of begging for God's attention, we approach Him knowing we have already been accepted.

Instead of viewing ourselves as powerless victims of circumstances, we stand on the authority of God's Word and declare what Christ has accomplished.

Take a moment today and identify an area of your life where you have been waiting for God to act.

What does Scripture say about that situation?

Has God already spoken a promise concerning it?

Whether it relates to peace, provision, wisdom, healing, strength, or direction, begin agreeing with God's Word. Let your faith rest not on what you see, but on what Christ has already completed.

The finished work of the cross is not merely a historical event. It is a present reality that every believer can walk in today.

Prayer

Father, thank You for the finished work of Jesus Christ. Thank You that through His sacrifice, every promise You have spoken has been secured for me. Help me to move from striving to trusting, from fear to faith, and from doubt to confidence in Your Word. Teach me to receive what You have already provided through Christ and to walk daily in the victory He purchased for me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Reflection Questions

  • What area of my life have I been struggling to trust God with?

  • What promise from Scripture applies to that situation?

  • How can I begin responding in faith rather than fear?

Today's Declaration

Jesus has finished the work. I stand on God's promises with confidence. I receive His peace, wisdom, strength, and provision by faith. I walk in the victory Christ has already secured for me.
