Bible Reading: Matthew 4:18-25
Special Verse: Matthew 4:20
"Immediately they left their nets and followed him."
Have you ever wondered if you would have followed Jesus if He called you during His time on earth? It’s easy to say “yes,” but do you truly grasp the cost of such a decision? The Gospels show us that while many desired to follow Jesus, only a few were willing to pay the price.
The ones who followed and persevered to the end were those who surrendered everything. Simon and Andrew, for instance, walked away from their profession and family to follow Him. This kind of surrender wasn’t limited to their time—it’s the same requirement Jesus has for His followers today.
Total surrender might mean walking away from an ungodly relationship, reordering your priorities to put God first, or letting go of personal ambitions to embrace God’s divine plan. It’s not about partial obedience but about fully yielding every area of your life to His lordship.
The beauty of surrender is that it positions you to be a true disciple of Christ and opens the door for God’s supernatural power to work in your life. The disciples’ lives testify to this truth, and even now, Jesus seeks surrendered vessels through whom He can reveal His glory.
Will you answer His call to total surrender?
