God Desires Human Fellowship

God Desires Human Fellowship

Bible Reading: Luke 10:38-42

Memory verse: Luke 10:42, “But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”

Think about when Adam and Eve were in the Garden of Eden. They had no needs, no history, or challenges, yet they talked with God (prayer). If Jesus came to restore what we lost through the Fall (indeed He did), it means we have everything we lost (2 Peter 1: 3). His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness. Does this not imply that we have missed the whole essence of prayer if all we do is ask? Should prayer meetings and our prayer time be all about “bombarding” heaven? Adam and Eve must have been simply having a lot of fun with God and letting Him tell them stuff. Remember Jesus told Martha that the most important decision we can make with our time is to sit at the feet of the Master, and let Him talk to us. I am learning to enjoy fellowship with the Spirit. I ask Him questions and listen for answers about different aspects of life and His creation.

It is really exciting to hear His heart and learn deep things. This is what leads to true friendship and a desire to please Him. It is time for the children of God to see prayer differently, and start enjoying fellowship with the Holy Spirit. Every other need will be met when we make this a priority.
