Bible reading: Psalm 23
Memory verse: Psalms 23:5, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.”
I n many cultures, when you are invited to a family celebration at someone’s home, you are expected to bring a dish. This is not the case with God. He prepares a gourmet and invites us to simply come and eat. We are invited to a table spread with the best things his heavenly kitchen could offer. Although they are already prepared, ready for our benefit, we must take the step of faith and eat them. Food does not jump into your mouth; you do the eating yourself. Interestingly, God does this in the very presence of our enemies.
Satan could not stop God from blessing us with the good things of life but are you going to allow him to stop you from eating them? God doesn’t expect you to run from your enemies. He wants your enemy to watch you while you wine and dine. Stop being terrorized by your enemies. Satan can only stop you with his lies, which produce inaction. Remember that it is only the violent in spirit that take the kingdom of God by force. You are an overcomer simply because you are born of God.
