God is a Good Father

God is a Good Father

Bible Reading: Matthew 7:7-11

Memory verse: Matthew 7:11, “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!”

This scripture tells us that when we pray, we are talking to a Father, and He is a good one, not evil. It means we should not be afraid of being rejected by Him. How many of us will not feed our children because they disobeyed us? Yet we accuse or say God does such things to us. He is a good Father, and there is no evil in Him. It is the devil that steals, kills, and destroys.

Because of the terrible challenges we face in a fallen world, there is a tendency for us to get caught up in “quenching fires”, going from one problem to the other, and forgetting the reason for our salvation, which should be fellowshipping with God and pointing others to the knowledge of Jesus Christ.

I want to challenge you today to ask God again for souls to be brought into the kingdom through you. We can get physical and financial needs met by God, but what will matter most, is treasures laid up in heaven. In eternity, what counts is not the good things of earthly life, but the souls won. Go out today and purposefully touch a life for Christ.
