God is an Advertiser

God is an Advertiser

Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 3

Memory verse: 1 Samuel 3:20, “And all Israel from Dan to Beersheba knew that Samuel had been established as a prophet of the LORD.”

S amuel’s ministry started at a very tender age. God spoke to him when he was probably less than 10 years. He stayed true to his fellowship with God and eventually, God brought him to the limelight. In Samuel’s time, there were no means of publicity like television, Internet, flyers, and radios, but God publicized Samuel’s prophetic ministry. This was because God revealed Himself to Samuel through His word, and Samuel completely relied on Him. How powerful that is. It is always a temptation to put ourselves out there, advertising ourselves by human efforts and not allow God to advertise us in ministry. Notice that it took time - time needed for Samuel to grow, even after hearing the voice of God.

Publicity can destroy you because it attracts haters. Remember that every public figure comes under attack. If you are not prepared for it, it can destroy your Christian testimony. God is more interested in keeping His relationship with you than losing you as a result of such attacks. I encourage you to hold on to the word of God, and let God process His plans for your life. Whether in business, ministry, or other areas of life, God is able to bring you out of obscurity if you trust Him. When God lifts you up, no one can bring you down. Samuel’s life was a testimony to that.
