God is Not Responsible for Evil

God is Not Responsible for Evil

Bible reading: Job 40: 1-5

Memory verse: Acts 10:38,“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with him.”

Like Job and his friends most people when hit by tragedy are quick to say it is from God. Most of the church believe that God puts tragedy /allows tragedy on us to teach us a lesson. God’s lesson book is his Word/Bible. Job’s case was more challenging because even God called him a righteous man, and like Job we tend to think that righteousness is what keeps trouble from coming to us. When trouble then comes, we are angry with God and say we don’t deserve it. Evil doesn’t come from God and neither does he put it on his children. The truth is that all evil originate from Satan and he comes against us because we are righteous. Our mindset should be to trust in God’s word for deliverance and actively stand against evil instead of throwing a self-righteous pity party. Remember, on our own we are all unrighteous but for the righteousness that Jesus has given us freely. Stop saying God does evil sometimes.

God’s character is reflected in Jesus. Jesus never did evil to anyone. He went about doing good, healing all that were oppressed of the devil because God was with him. Remember Jesus asked as to pray thus “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven”. Is there divorce, sudden death, poverty, sickness, heartbreak and sorrow in heaven? If your answer is NO, then they are not God’s will.
