God Is With You — Even When You Don’t Realize It

God Is With You — Even When You Don’t Realize It

Bible Reading: Genesis 28:10–17

Special Verse: Hebrews 13;5

Let your manner of living be without covetousness, and be content with such things as ye have. For He hath said, “I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee”;

Jacob was running away — leaving home with nothing but regret and uncertainty. He slept with a stone for a pillow. Yet in that lonely place, he had a dream: angels ascending and descending, and God speaking promises over his life. When he woke up, he said:
“Surely the Lord is in this place, and I did not know it.” (Genesis 28:16)

Notice something powerful: the angels were ascending first. That means they were already there. Heaven was active around Jacob before he ever perceived it.  Many of us ask, “God, where are You?” But the truth is — He is already there.

God was with Jacob in his failure.
God was with Jacob in his escape.
God was with Jacob before Jacob even acknowledged Him.

If you are a child of God, His presence is not dependent on your awareness. He said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)  You may feel alone. You may feel like you’re in a wilderness season. But Bethel moments often come in the most uncomfortable places. Always remember that his presence isn’t dependent on our feelings because God is a spirit. We know he is there because he promised us in his word that he will never leave us.

Prayer:
Lord, open my eyes to recognize Your presence in my current season. Help me stop asking where You are and start trusting that You are already here.

Reflection:
Where in your life have you assumed God was absent — when He may have been working all along?
