God Is Your Source

God Is Your Source

Bible Reading : 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
Special Verse: Deuteronomy 8:18
But remember the Lord your God, for it is he who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms his covenant, which he swore to your ancestors, as it is today.
One of the most powerful revelations a believer can have is this: God is your source—not your job, not the economy, not people.
The Bible says in Deuteronomy 8:18 that it is God who gives you the power to get wealth. This means that your ability, your ideas, your opportunities, and your breakthroughs all originate from Him. When you understand this, fear begins to lose its grip on your life.
Many people live under pressure because they believe their survival depends on external systems—their job, the government, or the economy. But when those systems are shaken, fear sets in. God never intended for His children to live that way.  When God is your source, you live with confidence. You are no longer controlled by fear of losing income or missing opportunities. Instead, you trust the One who can provide in ways beyond human understanding.
Beyond provision, God also desires influence for His people. Ecclesiastes 9:16 tells us that the wisdom of the poor is often despised. While wisdom is valuable, influence amplifies impact. Resources create platforms, and platforms create opportunities to shape lives, communities, and nations.  This is why prosperity in the hands of the righteous matters. It enables the church to have a voice, to lead, and to bring kingdom values into society.
But even beyond influence, there is a higher purpose—the advancement of God’s kingdom.  God blesses His people so that His covenant can be established on the earth. The gospel must be preached, lives must be transformed, and souls must be saved—and these things require resources. In Malachi 3:10, we see the principle of provision connected to God’s house being supplied.
Giving, therefore, is not loss—it is partnership with God. When you give, you are participating in something eternal. You are aligning your resources with God’s purposes.  The truth is, God is looking for people He can trust—people through whom He can flow resources without restriction. When your heart is aligned with His kingdom, provision follows purpose.
Reflection Questions:
  • Do I truly see God as my source, or do I rely on systems?
  • Am I using what I have for kingdom impact?
  • Can God trust me to distribute what He gives?
Prayer:
Lord, I declare that You are my source and my provider. Break every mindset that ties my security to anything other than You. Teach me to trust You fully and to walk in boldness and freedom. Use me as a vessel to advance Your kingdom and impact lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
