BIBLE READING : PROVERBS 3:1-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.
When the Bible refers to the heart what does it mean? The heart represents your will, intellect (mental process) and emotions. According to Proverbs 3:5 we are asked to trust God with all our heart.
For us to receive divine direction, we can't prefer our own intellectual understanding to what God is ministering to us. There's a need for total interference of the word of GOD in every aspect of our lives. Many times we wonder why we're not receiving directions form the Holy Spirit, it's simply because our hearts aren't fully committed to his word.
Imagine trying to seek God in the area of a life partner and you are head over heels in love with an unbeliever. It will be difficult to hear what he is telling you or let him direct your path. It follows that in seeking God, make up your mind that you won't even start off on the wrong path by clearly disobeying his word. Accept the word as it is, don't rationalize it. Rest in his goodness and watch him direct and lead you.
