God’s Mandate is “GO”

God’s Mandate is “GO”

Bible Reading: Esther 4

Special Verse: Esther 4:15

Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16 “Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my attendants will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.”

Knowing that we have access to the throne comes with a great responsibility. There is a call to prayer and a mandate to GO on all of us who are royal priests (2 Peter 2:9). However, you must understand that obeying can come with a heavy price. Esther was not sure of the outcome of her decision but she knew one thing, she had to GO. Throughout the Bible we see heroes of faith who knew they had to GO.

  1. Moses had to GO to Pharaoh on behalf of Israel.
  2. Elijah had to GO to Ahab on behalf of Israel.
  3. Jesus had to GO to the cross on our behalf.
  4. The 11 disciples had to GO to the world with the gospel.

Today the church needs to GO to God for mercy on behalf of the world and GO subsequently go to the world with the gospel of Jesus. Like Esther, we must not stop at praying and fasting, hoping that only prayer will change the situation. Even though she prayed, she still had to take a risk by going before the king to petition for her people.

This may cost you your life but like Queen Esther,  we will  all  say "IF I PERISH, I PERISH". GO means take action. Speak up, share the gospel, give. DON'T JUST PRAY ACT.
