Bible Reading: Ephesians 5:1-14
Memory verse: Ephesians 5:8, “For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.”
Ephesians 5:8 focuses on who we are, not on what we do. Our greatest challenge is to truly know who we are in Christ. The enemy works at keeping us focused on what we do and what is going on in our lives, and gets us to define ourselves by those. He tells you that when your bank account is in the red, you are poor. However, the Word of God says that Jesus became poor, so that through his poverty you might be abundantly supplied (2 Corinthians 8:9). When you receive a negative report from the doctor, Satan tells you that you are sick and will die. On the other hand, the Word of God says Jesus carried all your sickness in His body on the tree. By His wounds, you are healed. Also, when you sin, Satan calls you a sinner, but the Word of God calls you the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
Whose report you believe will determine how free you will live. In the midst of your failures, remember what the Word says about you. Make those your meditation and confession. You will be amazed at how your life will be transformed.
