God’s Promise is to Save Your Children

God’s Promise is to Save Your Children

Bible Reading: Isaiah 49:24-26

Memory verse: Isaiah 49:25, “But thus says the LORD: ‘Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible be delivered; For I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children.”

God created Adam and Eve perfect, they had no family history of dysfunction, no media to pollute their minds, no one to learn how to sin from yet they fell. They fell because they chose to listen to the voice of another being - Lucifer. He planted doubt in their hearts about the integrity of God’s word. This truth can be applied to parenting. Every parent wishes they can stop their children from making wrong choices, however, when they do, we blame ourselves. Adam and Eve were children of God, and he provided the best for them. He was always there for them, yet when the time to choose came, they made the wrong choice. Even God did not stop them but loved them in spite of it. Just like in a battle, even the best trained soldier can get killed if he does not apply what he learned while in training.

Our responsibility as parents is to train, discipline, love, and equip our kids for the world. Will they always use what they learned? The answer sadly is no because even we, the parents, didn’t always make the best choices growing up. The good thing about this is that if we trust the promises of God, the end of our children will be good. God will deliver them, and they will serve Him. Don’t expect to raise perfect kids because we ourselves aren’t perfect, but in our weakness God will come through. God came through for mankind through Jesus; He will come through for you. Trust Him, your situation isn’t hopeless.
