Bible Reading: Genesis 1:26-31
Memory verse: Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
All over the world, many nations, leaders, and prominent people are standing behind gay marriage and the homosexual lifestyle. Thank God that the Bible has never changed its stand on marriage between man and woman. The Bible clearly states that heaven and earth shall pass away, but God’s word will never pass away. This is because God never changes, He is His Word, and His Word is Him as seen in the Gospel of John 1:1. If the word of God were to change, then Jesus would have to change too. Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever more.
We must not fall into the temptation of interpreting Scripture according to the environment or culture we live in, rather, use the word of God to discern and understand what happens around you. I am so glad that the standards in the Bible are constant. This is the time for us to shine more than ever and live the life that Christ has called us to live. Through us, let His love shine and touch this sin-ridden world that men may turn to receive the finished work of Christ on the cross. Let the world know that God hates sin but loves the sinner, no matter what sin it is. We aren’t condemning any particular group of persons but as Christians; let’s hold God’s word in high esteem in our lives. I encourage you to consider and meditate on Isaiah 5:20 which says:
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”
