Bible Reading: Isaiah 48:16-19
Memory verse: Isaiah 48:18, “Oh, that you had heeded My commandments! Then your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like the waves of the sea.”
I t is improper to come into the presence of an all-knowing God and do all the talking. Doing this, you actually drown His voice with you blabbing. He is unable to get any word across to you. You end your prayer time still with your problems unresolved as when you started. No wonder people keep praying the same prayer over and over again. If you are confident your prayer was heard the first time, why ask Him for the same thing again and again.
The art of practicing listening in the presence of God is important. While waiting on Him, listen for His voice and instructions. He is always speaking, but most times, we are not listening. There is a peace that comes with hearing, and obeying His voice. In our New Testament dispensation, God speaks to us primarily from the inside, through the still, small voice. The more you spend time studying the Word, the clearer the voice will be. Practice listening for it daily.
