God’s Will is the Best

God’s Will is the Best

Bible Reading: Matthew 6:9-14

Memory verse: 1 Corinthians 2:9, “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”

This was Jesus teaching His disciples how to pray, not a prayer to recite. The key ingredients to effective prayer are expressed here (This is not to say it is wrong to recite this as a prayer). From this, we see that the purpose of prayer is to use it to establish God’s will on earth, not our own selfish ambitions. However, if you have been in a relationship with God for any length of time, you must have discovered that His will is always better, safer, bigger, peaceful, glorious, and more exciting than anything we could ever dream for ourselves. God is not a killjoy; I have come to know that. Our challenge is to find His will and He has promised to reveal it to us by His Spirit. His will is worth knowing; don’t be afraid to seek it out. Stop trying to make your plans work, let Him be Lord, and let His kingdom rule in your life.
