God Wants to Speak Directly to You.

God Wants to Speak Directly to You.

Bible Reading: Deuteronomy 5:22-27

Special Verse: John 16:13 When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.

Do not make the same mistake the children of Israel made at Mount Sinai. They were so afraid of God that they didn’t want to hear His voice directly. Instead, they asked Moses to be their mediator, telling God not to speak to them but to relay His message through Moses. I believe this saddened God’s heart.

God desires to speak to you personally. He wants you to be confident that you can hear His voice. Just as a loving father longs for open communication with his children, God does not want to rely on intermediaries to guide you. That’s why it is unwise to chase after prophets for messages from God. While He may use others to confirm what He has already spoken to you, the Holy Spirit longs to communicate with you directly.

Be cautious of relying on others to hear from God on your behalf. Human interpretation can introduce personal biases, and this dependency can keep you from developing your own relationship with God. Instead, cultivate an intimate connection with Him through prayer and His Word. He is always speaking—are you listening?
