Bible reading: Job 42: 10-17
Memory verse: 1 Peter 1:7, “That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”
S ometimes we wonder why we face difficult times, however from this scripture we see that tests and trials come to prove the quality of what we have. You can face trouble because of people’s bad choices like in the case of Jonah who was running from God. Because of Jonah, everybody in his ship faced a storm. You may also be the one who makes the bad choice and brings trouble on yourself like Samson. Finally, you can be in the center of God’s will and storms come. In all three situations, they are an opportunity to showcase what is in you (the faith of the Son of God).
Unfortunately, many see trials as things that will destroy them. That is a lie of the devil. Like in Job’s trials realize you have something that the devil hates -faith in God. In the same way Job stood the test of time and came out better than he entered, stand and see the salvation of the Lord. When you stand your ground on God’s promises of deliverance, He is glorified.
