Bible Reading: 1 Peter 2:21-25
Memory verse: 1 Peter 2: 9, “But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”
Ephesians 5:8 focuses on who we are not on what we do. Our greatest challenge is to truly know who we are in Christ. The enemy works at keeping us focused on what we do or what is going on in our lives and gets us to define ourselves by those. He tells you that when your bank account is in red, you are poor. However, the Word says that Jesus became poor, so that through his poverty you might be abundantly supplied (2 Corinthians 8:9).
When you receive a negative report from the doctor, Satan tells you, you are sick and will die. On the other hand, the Word says Jesus carried all your sickness in his body on the tree. When you sin, Satan calls you a sinner, but the Word calls you the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
The question is whose report will you believe? The report you believe will determine how free from corruption (sickness, poverty and sin) you will live. In the midst of your failures remember what the word says about you and watch your life be transformed.
