Bible Reading: Galatians 5:18- 26
Memory verse: Ephesians 4:26, “Be angry, and do not sin : do not let the sun go down on your wrath.”
Two of the most difficult things I have come to terms with is that God will never do for me what he has empowered me to do. Neither will he do what he has already done through the death of Jesus on the cross. Both of them, I most get up and take hold of. In today’s special verse, I notice that it is up to me not to allow myself to sin as a result of anger. I also have responsibility for the place I give to the devil. I can’t ask God to take care of the devil for me by praying and fasting. I have been empowered through my born again spirit to control my reaction to situations.
Asking God to do for you what he empowered you to do is a waste of precious time and energy. Concerning such things all that is required of you is to exercise authority over the enemy. We are instructed to take a stand, exercise self-control and self discipline. Say no to the flesh and the devil. This may hurt but you will reap a harvest of righteousness and peace in the long run.
