Bible Reading: Proverbs 5:1-6
Special Verse : Psalm 119:11
Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Many Christians complain about not being able to break evil habits. I remember a young man reaching out to me concerning different addictions he was struggling with. He felt condemned because he was the worship leader in his church. I made it clear to him that if he invested his time in studying the Word of God, he will definitely gain his freedom. This didn’t seem to bless him because he believed he needed a special type of deliverance to be free. Unfortunately, I don’t think he took my advice and I stopped hearing from him.
To live a victorious Christian life, you have to make it your responsibility to hide God’s word in your heart and intentionally focus your mind on it. This implies that you can’t have a casual relationship with it. It is not about doing a quick quiet time each morning for a few minutes and don’t remember two hours later what you read in scripture. You will need to commit it to memory, meditate on it and be preoccupied with it in your thoughts. As you do so, you will find yourself talking it and doing it because as you think it, you become it.
True transformation starts from within . This is the reason why Satan will do all he can to keep you distracted from the Bible because he knows that once you start to spend quality time focused on it, he has lost a willing partner in sin.
