Bible Reading: 1 CORINTHIANS 1:25-31
Special Verse: 2 Timothy 6:12
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
One of the things most people struggles with is a consciousness of our weaknesses. We bring this mindset into our Christian walk and are held in captivity by it. However, the very awareness of our weaknesses should make us live in a different consciousness. This is, being conscious of the truth that God uses the foolish and weak people of this world to do great things.
David and his men are a typical example. When he ran from King Saul and started his army, he did so with those we would call the Scum of the earth. The men were poor, destitute, broke and disillusioned. Later in 2 Samuel 23:8-38, they were described as David's mighty men. With the help of these men, David was able to win battles and become King of Israel. As they won battles, they shared the loot and became richer.
In conclusion, where you are in life today is not as important as where God desires to get you to. It all boils down to if you are willing to fight the good fight of faith and become all he has called you to be.
