Scripture Reading: Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 10:4–5
You are a three-part being: spirit, soul, and body. When you’re born again, your spirit is made new—but your soul (mind, will, emotions) and your body still need training. That’s why many believers love God sincerely, yet keep struggling: the spirit is ready, but the soul hasn’t been renewed and the body hasn’t been surrendered.
God’s desire is simple: your spirit should flow through a renewed soul and direct your body. That’s how the life of God shows up in everyday life. In 1 Corinthians 12, the gifts of the Spirit are “manifestations”—the Spirit shining out through what we say and do. Your hands, mouth, eyes, and habits can become instruments of righteousness when your mind is aligned with the Word.
The turning point is the soul. “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” (Proverbs 23:7) You will live in the direction your mind is set. If your mind is fed by fear, entertainment, worry, and negativity, your life will reflect that. But if your mind is fed by Scripture, worship, and communion with the Holy Spirit, your inner life becomes strong—and your outer life follows.
This is warfare too. The battle is often in the thought-life. God gives us weapons with power to tear down strongholds and take every thought captive to obey Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4–5). You don’t have to accept every thought that comes. You can train your mind to think Word-thoughts until old desires lose their pull.
Today, choose worship with your whole being:
-
Body surrendered to God,
-
Mind renewed by the Word,
-
Spirit leading with boldness and peace.
God has not given you a spirit of fear, but power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). That sound mind is built—daily—through time in the Word and sensitivity to the Spirit.
