Bible Reading: Proverbs 3: 1-5
Memory verse: Genesis 13:11, “Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other.”
The Bible tells us that to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Lot took a carnal decision i.e., his choice of where to live was based on what he saw in the natural -the land looked good and fertile. He wasn’t worried about pitching his tent next door to Sodom and Gomorrah and he got the consequence. In this time of emotional and financial pressure every child of God must not decide based on what they see.
God sees beyond the natural beauties and we need his spiritual direction in making decisions. Lot eventually lost all his wealth and wife as a result of this. Abram on the other hand knew that little is much when God is in it. He knew he was the carrier of the blessing and not looking for blessings from his environment. This is also our position “blessed to be a blessing”. If this is your mindset, you will not be put to shame and everything you lay your hand on will prosper
