Living Each Day with Eternity in Mind

Bible Reading: Matthew 24:3-14

Special Verse: Matthew 24:42
"Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming."

There is so much happening in the world today. News reports, conflicts, political changes, and global uncertainty can easily make people anxious about the future. Yet Jesus warned us long ago that we would not know the exact day or hour of His return. Instead of living in fear, He calls us to live in readiness.

Life is fragile and uncertain. A person may have wealth today and lose everything tomorrow. Someone may make plans for the future and suddenly find those plans interrupted. None of us truly control tomorrow. This reality should not cause despair; rather, it should remind us that what matters most is our relationship with Jesus Christ.

Many people spend their lives pursuing wealth, power, or recognition, believing those things will give them security. But in the end, none of these things can be taken into eternity. What will matter most is whether we lived for God and invested our lives in what has eternal value.

One day, every person will be remembered for something. Some are remembered for the harm they caused others, while others are remembered for the love, kindness, and faith they showed. Each of us must ask ourselves an important question: What will my life be remembered for?  Instead of worrying about when Jesus will return, we should focus on living every day in a way that pleases Him. When we dedicate our lives to God and follow His calling, our lives begin to carry eternal significance.

Prayer

Lord, help me to live each day with eternity in mind. Teach me to invest my life in what truly matters and to walk closely with You. In Jesus name, Amen.
