Bible Reading: Esther 2
Memory verse: Esther 2:7, “And Mordecai had brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle’s daughter, for she had neither father nor mother. The young woman was lovely and beautiful. When her father and mother died, Mordecai took her as his own daughter.”
Many times we look at people and feel that good luck follows them around. People must have felt the same way about Esther during her time — an orphan girl suddenly becoming the queen of the greatest kingdom of her time. A closer look at her life tells that she had been unknowingly preparing for promotion. In the kingdom of God, there’s nothing like luck. The effort you put in making right choices and being diligent will pay off as a “lucky break” in the days to come. Esther submitted to Mordecai and the king’s eunuch, these were the authorities in her life. Without that, she would never have become the queen of Persia. This was what got her there not her beauty. Remember to obey God one step at a time.
