Bible Reading: Ephesians 4:1-8
Memory verse: Ephesians 4:1, “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called.”
My focus today will be on verse 1 in which Paul called himself a prisoner of Christ Jesus. It is interesting that although Paul was in prison he saw himself as Christ’s prisoner. He didn’t see himself as prisoner to any ruler. He used his negative circumstance as an opportunity to advance the gospel. He also understood that every negative situation that came his way could be used for the advancement of the gospel. In other words, when life throws you a lemon, use it and make lemonade. Jesus did the same thing, when a storm of hurricane proportions came against his disciples, he walked on it and got Peter to join, making him the only man in history to walk on water.
Life is full of adversity and they won’t end until you exit this side of eternity. If you let them consume and shape your life, you’ll not live a fulfilled life. So, do not let your circumstance rule your attitude or determine the outcome of your life, rather exploit them for the gospel and kingdom’s sake.
