BIBLE READING : PROVERBS 18:19-21
Special Verse: Proverbs 18:7
A fool’s mouth is his destruction, And his lips are the snare of his soul.
New years are normally ushered in with a lot of excitement and positive expectations of God's goodness. For most people, there's always something about January 1. We tend to think that a change from December 31 to January 1 ought to bring about a positive transformation of our lives. Having lived on earth long enough, I know deep down that it just doesn't happen.
We all have a role to play in every transformation, whether positive or negative. Interestingly, what changes our circumstances isn't prayer on its own. Several scriptures prove to us that the little thing called the TONGUE is what actually controls the direction of our lives (James 3:1-11, Numbers 14:28).
Every word we speak is a seed and seeds bear fruit. There's no room for idle or careless words in life. Jesus warns us to pay attention to what we are saying at all times. This includes what you text and write, they represent your words. Matthew 12:36 "But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. " It is good to know that my tongue is what is shaping my life not some forces beyond my control.
By making a quality decision to take my "TALK" seriously, I know I can change the direction of my life. This is what we all need to do. To achieve this, I will change what I feed my mind with by renewing it with the word of GOD. As you persist in speaking right, you will reap the fruits of a transformed life if you don't give up.
