For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
Let following through with God's purpose for your life be your ultimate goal in life. Always remember that human beings are naturally unreliable in their opinion of you. Opinions of who you are change like the weather. However, God is the only one whose opinion of you doesn't change. It is not dependent on your actions because he already knew them before you did them.
Following and serving God demands dying to people's opinion of you. Until you do that, God can't use you even when you cry each day for him to do so. Every person that takes a stand for something gets attacked from the opposing side. I encourage you not to be afraid to be different, just make sure you are on the Lord's side.
