Questioning God is Allowed

Questioning God is Allowed

Bible Reading: Jeremiah 29:11-14

Memory verse: Luke 1:34 (NIV), “How will this be,’ Mary asked the angel, ‘since I am a virgin?”

Mary asked the “How” question when the angel told her she was going to bear a son.A similar question was asked by Zechariah, John the Baptist’s father. Mary asked in faith, Zechariah asked in unbelief. This shows us that God doesn’t mind when we ask for the clarification of an issue. This is similar to when you assign a task to your staff, you expect him/her to ask clarifying questions on how to go about the task. In fact, God desires that we ask and understand His workings if not we can run off on a wrong tangent with what He tells us. God’s purpose can easily be messed up if we don’t seek clarifications for a word we receive. Mary could have easily assumed that God’s plan was for her to go sleep with Joseph, and they will bring forth the savior of the world. However, by asking for clarification, she was able to work with the Holy Spirit to bring to pass the will of God. So take your questions to God, He will answer.
