Bible Reading: Genesis 3:1-8
Memory verses: Genesis 3:4-5, “Then the serpent said to the woman, ‘You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
There once lived a king who had a son, and he gave him access to all his kingdom, this included an inexhaustible number of precious stones and metals. The king was so rich that money was trampled upon by his servants, and his son had the authority to do as he pleased with all the subjects of the kingdom. The son could jet in and out to any beach resort he desired just by the click of his finger. The only command the king gave his son was that he must not spend the one dollar bill he leaves permanently on his royal stool. One day, the king comes back from a journey and finds the money gone, because his son decided to use it.
Will you blame the king for his son’s action, or will you realize that there was absolutely no reason for the son’s action? This is a bit like what happened with Adam and Eve, however, they were more naive. From convincing Adam and Eve that they were missing something to telling us we are not who we are, Satan’s age old lies paralyze us and keep us from living the life of dominion we are created to live.
