Seeing Life Through God’s Eyes

Seeing Life Through God’s Eyes

Bible Reading: Romans 12:1–2; Colossians 2:8; Revelation 21:1–5
Key Verse:

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” – Romans 12:2

Whether we realize it or not, all of us see life through a lens. That lens is called a worldview—the set of beliefs (often hidden) that shapes how we see God, ourselves, people, problems, death, success… everything.

From childhood, our worldview is shaped by family, culture, school, media, pain, and experiences. If we are not intentional, the world will quietly train us to think just like everyone else. That’s why Romans 12:2 warns us not to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by renewing our minds with the Word of God.

A biblical worldview means you choose to see everything—good and bad—through what God has said in Scripture, not through fear, tradition, or popular opinion.

  • The world sees death only as tragedy and final loss.

  • The Bible shows death, for the believer, as a doorway—leaving pain, sickness, and sorrow to be with the Lord forever (Revelation 21:3–4; John 14:1–3).

The difference is not the circumstance—but the lens.

The enemy works hard to shape our thinking through subtle lies, philosophies, and “normal” culture. Colossians 2:8 warns us not to be cheated through empty human ideas that are not according to Christ. Ephesians 6 reminds us we are in a spiritual battle, and much of that battle is for our mind.

If you think like the world, you will fear like the world, live like the world, and be limited like the world.
If you think with the mind of Christ, you will begin to live in the victory, peace, and hope Jesus died to give you.

You are not just a natural person trying to survive. In Christ, you are supernatural. God wants His Word to be the filter for how you see sickness, money, death, success, suffering, politics, and even your own identity.

The more time you spend in the Word, the more your mindset shifts. You start to ask:

  • “What does God say about this?”

  • “How does heaven see this situation?”

And as your thinking changes, your decisions and outcomes begin to change too.

Reflection

  • What has been shaping my thinking most lately—Scripture, or media and culture?

  • Is there an area (death, sickness, money, fear, identity) where I clearly see more like the world than like the Word?
