Seek God’s Face not His Hands

Seek God’s Face not His Hands

Bible Reading: Exodus 33:7-11

Memory verse: Exodus 33:9, “And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.”

This passage tells of Moses and how much he loved to meet with God. He prepared a place to meet with God, calling it a “tent of meeting”. He expected God to show up each time he went there, and God never failed him. Throughout the book of Exodus, it was written, “And God said to Moses”. What a relationship! As I studied this book, the Lord told me that hearing Him is going to be by choice. God longs for us to meet with Him, not just for our needs but for a conversation. This was never lacking in Moses’ life. He told God, “If Your presence will not go with us, I will not go.” He asked God to reveal to him His ways, not His hands. All we need in life is a revelation of who God is, and everything will fall into place.

This is why Jesus admonished us to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all other things will be added onto us. Understand that when you seek to know God and who He really is, you will understand better who you really are as a person.

Remember that we are made in God’s image. When you discover who God is and know that you are His child, it will become clear to you that all He has actually belongs to you. You will eventually stop seeking things because now you know you already have all you need for life and godliness. I challenge you to seek Him for who He is, and watch you relationship with God take a new dimension.
