Bible Reading: Proverbs 1
Memory Verse: Proverbs 1: 26, “I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your terror come.”
Many people think sin has no consequences but that is a lie. When we disregard the counsel in the word of God, and live like the world, there will be grave consequences. Whether by omission or commission, there are consequences for sin.
Emotional consequences can be the most devastating. This is why our world is full of hurting people. Children hurt, mothers hurt, fathers hurt all because we have disdained the standards in scripture. Verse 26 does not say “if ” but when. Paul said you reap what you sow. Mercy and grace will give us the strength to deal with the consequences but the wisest thing is to avoid sowing the wrong seeds in the first place.
The reward for sin is not worth it. God loves you no matter what you do but the consequences will be there.
