Stop Waiting for God, Take Hold Of the Promise

Stop Waiting for God, Take Hold Of the Promise

Bible reading: Mark 11:20-25

Memory verse: 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slag concerning His promise as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us,[a] not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Like all Bible verses, 2 Peter 3:9 has many applications. It just doesn’t apply to the return of the Lord. A different application has to do with the timing of the fulfilment of God’s promises in our lives.

Many of us feel that God is slow in fulfilling his promise in our lives. That is why we say, we are waiting on God, but that is not normally the issue. God doesn’t want us to perish in our sickness, poverty or heartache but he is looking for repentance in us. What does that really mean? Change your mind-set about your concept of God’s will. For example, if you think God does not heal all the time, sickness will destroy your body because of your mindset. Again, if you think God does not provide all the time, you’ll constantly be in want.

In conclusion, the sooner you change your mind-set about God, the quicker you will experience life and not destruction.
