Strong Faith Sustains in Hard Times

Strong Faith Sustains in Hard Times

Bible Reading: Matthew 7:24-29
Special Verse: Proverbs 24:10

"If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small."

Adversity often reveals the state of our hearts. One key reason people faint in tough times is hardness of heart, which stems from insensitivity to God’s Word and promises. A hardened heart occurs when we let our five senses dominate over the truth of God’s Word.

This is why Jesus emphasized not only hearing the Word but also doing it. Acting on God’s Word keeps our hearts tender toward Him, reinforcing our trust and surrender. When we live with the understanding that we belong to God and are His responsibility, fear loses its grip.

In Mark 8:18-19, Jesus rebuked His disciples for forgetting God’s miraculous provision in the past. By dwelling on past victories and trusting His faithfulness, we can combat unbelief and stand firm in faith.

Remember: If God delivered you before, He will do it again. Let your faith be rooted in His unchanging character, not your circumstances. Build your life on the rock of His Word, and you’ll remain unshaken in times of trial.
