The Devil is Not Powerful

The Devil is Not Powerful

Bible Reading: 1 Peter 5: 6-10

Memory verse: Colossians 2:15, “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.”

I f you believe that Satan is powerful, you must realize that that is absolutely a big lie from the pit of hell. All his power was stripped from him when Jesus Christ died on the cross and rose from the grave. Look at what the Bible says in the passage above, all principalities and powers have been disarmed and are powerless. The devil’s strategy is deception, and if we don’t know the truth, we are held captive and unable to resist him.

1 Peter 5:8 “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” This verse doesn’t say he is a lion but moves around like one. He always tries to convince us that he is strong like a lion. We are encouraged to resist him by standing our ground on the promises of God, which are great and precious. Stand your ground, don’t give him an inch, he will be forced to back off, and you will experience victory. Remember we are more than conquerors through Christ. Read the end of the book, We Win! by Jim Craig. It doesn’t matter what it looks like, the words are true - SATAN IS A DEFEATED FOE.
