Bible Reading: Acts 1:1-6
Special Verse: Acts 1:8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The Kingdom of God was a central theme in Jesus' ministry, underscoring its importance for His followers. Throughout His life, Jesus taught extensively about the Kingdom, and even after His resurrection, He spent forty days continuing to emphasize it. When His disciples asked about the restoration of the kingdom to Israel, Jesus redirected their focus to the promise of the Holy Spirit.
Why? Because the indwelling of the Holy Spirit would enable them to rule as kings in life, manifesting God's Kingdom here on earth. Jesus was shifting their attention from earthly governance to the transformative power of God working through His people.
It isn’t about who holds authority in earthly governments. The church, empowered by the Holy Spirit, is called to establish God’s Kingdom in the hearts of men. Through the demonstration of supernatural power, the Kingdom of God advances, bringing human systems and powers into submission to God’s authority. Let the Holy Spirit flow through you today to reveal the reality of God's Kingdom to the world.
