Bible reading: John 17: 1-7
Memory verse: 1 John 5:13, “These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life”
We have learned that eternal life is the very life of God dwelling in us. The knowledge of Jesus Christ the son of God produces eternal life in us. The knowledge of Jesus results in dominion and rulership over this present world. This is the life you receive when you come to believe in the name of Jesus, the Son of God as your savior. You become born again into the kingdom of God. You become a partaker of his divine nature. You reign in life as a king.
Knowing you have eternal life gives you confidence in prayer because you understand that you have the same rights and privileges as Jesus Christ who is your senior brother. You don’t pray anyhow, but learn to pray his will because you know his character and know what pleases him. Jesus demonstrated this confidence whenever he prayed publicly. He didn’t hope for an answer to but knew it will come and it always did.
